About the Role

The organization is seeking a Vice President of Conservation Initiatives to lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies that connect and empower community and campus chapters in their conservation efforts. You will play a crucial role in establishing and advancing chapter priorities, strategies, and tactics, collaborating closely with conservation leaders to design and execute impactful plans. This role requires a proven track record in programmatic and volunteer management, community organizing, and grassroots engagement, with a minimum of 15 years' experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership position.

The Vice President will also be instrumental in fundraising efforts, managing a diverse team, and ensuring that the organization's values and conservation principles are maintained. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a deep commitment to values of care, collaboration, change, integrity, impact, and innovation. We seek a strategic leader with the capability to make decisions aligned with the organization's long-term goals and manage systemic transformations that empower chapters.

Essential qualifications include exemplary communication skills, experience in business planning and budgeting, and a solid background in nonprofit volunteer management and grassroots development. The successful candidate will excel in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and will have a natural aptitude for fundraising. A willingness to travel (approximately 25%) and a commitment to fostering a culture of workplace excellence are also essential.
