\n\nJob Description\n

As part of a collaborative, dynamic, multidisciplinary team, the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, delegating interventions that may be performed by others. The RN takes a lead role in maintaining a safe environment for effective nursing care. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN offers safe, effective, and compassionate care with an emphasis on restoring and promoting patient health and well-being. The RN partners with patients, families, and the care team in the planning and coordination of care.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care in an acuity adjustable unit.
\n
• Monitor patients requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care.
\n
• Handle higher levels of care for patients on BiPap, titratable drips, or those with hemodynamic instability.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy, and respiratory care.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience - REQUIRED
\n
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips - REQUIRED
\n
• Previous acute care experience - Preferred
\n
• Travel experience - Preferred
\n
• BLS Certification (AHA) - Must be obtained
\n
• Must be eligible and willing to obtain a Vermont State License
\n
• Flu vaccination - Declinations can be applied for
