\n\nJob Description\n

The Psychiatric RN will work in the Emergency Department focusing exclusively on psychiatric care. Responsibilities include managing acute and chronic psychiatric patients across various age groups, from pediatric to geriatric. The role demands a compassionate approach, a high commitment to safety, and the ability to handle both medical and psychological interventions.

  • Provide care for acute and chronic psychiatric patients.
  • \n
  • Monitor and assess the mental health condition of patients.
  • \n
  • Implement treatment plans and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • \n
  • Participate in hospital policies regarding patient admissions and discharges.
  • \n
\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n
    \n
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • \n
  • Experience in a large teaching facility is highly preferred.
  • \n
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • \n
  • CPI, ProAct, or MOAB certification required (equivalent accepted).
  • \n
  • Recent EIC experience (within the past 2 years) is non-negotiable.
  • \n
  • Reliable transportation is essential; public transportation is not available.
