Job Description

Senior Project Manager/ Scrum Master Location: 100% remote Duration: 5-7 months Position Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact IT projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. This role is responsible for end-to-end project execution, financial management, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, experienced in hybrid delivery models, and able to collaborate across teams to drive successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Project Execution & Delivery • Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget objectives are met. • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules. • Manage scope changes, resource plans, and dependencies in coordination with stakeholders and solution teams. • Drive adherence to project governance, change control, and release management practices. • Ensure phase gate approvals and proper documentation of architecture, testing, deployment, and hypercare plans. • Lead Go/No-Go decision processes and project close-out activities, including retrospectives and tool updates (e.g., Clarity). Financial & Risk Management • Track and manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and PO/invoice reviews. • Maintain the RAAIDD log (Risks, Actions, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies, Decisions). • Proactively identify, assess, and escalate project risks and issues, ensuring mitigation plans are executed. Stakeholder & Communication Management • Set and manage stakeholder expectations; communicate changes, risks, and major decisions. • Prepare and deliver status updates to governance bodies, Steering Committees, and executive stakeholders. • Maintain transparency with Portfolio Leads, Program Managers, and Business Owners on project health and escalations. Agile Leadership & Facilitation • Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams, facilitating all Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives). • Guide teams in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery commitments aligned with capacity. • Protect teams from external disruptions and ensure focus on sprint goals. • Track and report Agile metrics (velocity, burndown/burnup charts) using tools like Jira and Azure DevOps (ADS). • Build and manage sprint calendars, release plans, and delivery timelines. People Leadership & Team Coaching • Foster a collaborative and motivating team environment. • Coach teams on Agile principles, project best practices, and continuous improvement. • Understand team dynamics and negotiate with stakeholders to support team focus and productivity. Process Adherence & Continuous Improvement • Ensure compliance with ADUSA IT delivery standards (Waterfall and Agile). • Coach team members on tools, templates, and process requirements. • Contribute to ongoing improvements in project delivery frameworks, tools, and methodologies. Qualifications: • 7+ years of experience in IT project management, including both Agile and Waterfall environments. • Proven success managing cross-functional teams, budgets, risks, and project interdependencies. • Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira, Azure DevOps). • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. Preferred Qualifications: • PMP and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification. • Experience working in a scaled Agile environment. • Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally. • Experience working within large enterprise environments, ideally in retail, is a plus.
