Bluestem Health is a resource for the entire community for medical, dental and behavioral health services all under one roof. We accept all major types of insurance and also offer a sliding fee discount program so that patients are able to afford treatment.

This position is not a remote position, as you will be required to work in the office.

Position Summary:

The Billing Coordinator generates revenue by following up with insurance companies to ensure appropriate payment on all claims.

Essential Duties:

· Take patient phone calls to resolve questions or take payments

· Collects delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitoring payments and following up with patients when payment lapses occur.

· Process system credits.

· Follow-up with insurance on denied and no response claims.

· Compare payment amount with contract fees to ensure appropriate payment.

· Work system rejections and edits to ensure clean claims.

· Query providers with questions about services rendered.

· Meet with provider relations for various Insurance carriers to discuss trends.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

· High School Diploma, required

· Medical Billing experience required

· Strong computer skills, including data-entry and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word 

· Good oral and written communication skills

· Excellent attendance

· Excellent problem solving skills

· Highly organized and ability to meet deadlines

· Attentive to detail, quality and accuracy
