Lis Biotech is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in biological science and will be motivated to learn and grow in a laboratory setting. This position requires no prior experience as training will be provided.

The Laboratory Technician will support essential laboratory operations by executing routine tasks and following established protocols. This role requires attention to detail, effective teamwork, and adherence to supervisor instructions to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory processes. The position include administrative responsibilities related with customer service, but focuses on hands-on laboratory work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire laboratory process and participate in a rotational schedule set by the supervisor. The rotation will cover the following stages: sample receiving, sample processing, DNA extraction, and PCR.
2. Log received samples into the system accurately and efficiently.
3. Prepare samples for initial processing following standard procedures.
4. Weigh samples using analytical balance to ensure precision.
5. Conduct automated and manual testing, including DNA preparation and PCR.
6. Ensure compliance with quality control standards and maintain accurate records.
7. Clean laboratory equipment and instruments according to the supervisor’s scheduled maintenance plan.
8. Work in an aseptic and organized manner to prevent contamination and maintain safety.
9. Assist in the shipping of orders to customers by preparing and packaging items as needed.
10. Follow established protocols and procedures meticulously to ensure consistency and quality.
11. Assist other divisions with sample processing and laboratory analysis as required.
12. Customer Service:
    1. Responding to emails
    2. Answering phone calls

i. Returning missed calls
ii. Reviewing voicemail messages

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar natural science (preferred but not required).
• No experience required. We will provide on-the-job training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong time management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Training period (90 days) at $17.50 per hour.
• After training, pay increases to $19.50 per hour.
• Paid holidays after 90 days of employment.
• Paid 5 days of PTO per year after 90 days of employment.
• Paid 5 days of vacation after 1 year of employment.
