Curated Kitchen is a Brooklyn-based culinary company offering chef-driven, seasonal, and highly personalized dining experiences — from in-home weekly meal prep to private dinners and bespoke catering. Each menu is thoughtfully crafted to reflect our clients’ lifestyles, preferences, and wellness goals, with a focus on high-quality ingredients, balance, and presentation.
We are seeking experienced, reliable, and creative chefs who take pride in producing beautiful, nourishing meals with consistency and care.
Position OverviewThe Private Chef (Meal Prep) is responsible for executing customized weekly menus in clients’ homes. This includes preparing, packaging, and labeling meals to Curated Kitchen standards while maintaining professionalism and an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate is independent, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating elevated yet approachable food.
Responsibilities Menu Execution:
Prepare and package 3–5 meals per client each week, plus any add-ons (breakfast, snacks, or desserts), following Curated Kitchen menus or approved substitutions.
Ingredient Management:
Review FreshDirect or grocery orders in advance; confirm all ingredients are received and communicate any missing or substituted items. Take inventory each week of leftover ingredients in clients' homes.
Cooking & Storage:
Execute meals efficiently with strong organization and time management (typically within 3-5 hours). Cool, label, and store all food properly following Curated Kitchen SOPs.
Cleanliness & Organization:
Maintain a spotless work area during and after service — kitchens must be left cleaner than found.
Client Relations:
Represent Curated Kitchen with professionalism, warmth, and discretion. Communicate clearly and courteously with clients about reheating or serving instructions.
Documentation:
Submit photos, menu notes, and feedback after each session for internal tracking and quality assurance.
Minimum 3–5 years of professional culinary experience , ideally in fine dining, private chef work, or health-focused cooking.
Strong understanding of seasonality, nutrition, and dietary cooking (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, etc.).
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
Professional, punctual, and discreet in client homes.
Willing to travel throughout NYC and surrounding areas.
Current Food Handler’s Certificate (NYC DOH) preferred.
Curated Kitchen operates on a performance-based structure designed to reward quality, reliability, and professionalism:
Chefs cooking solo: receive 70% of the client rate + $20 per client for administrative fee (menu planning and grocery order)
Chefs in training or assisting: receive 30% of the client rate until fully trained and approved for solo sessions
Opportunities available for higher-paying private dinners, events
Payments are issued per completed session following submission of required notes and photos.
