Description

Responsible for managing expense reporting, payroll tasks, and various financial activities for Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB) and its affiliated companies. This role ensures accuracy, proper coding, and adherence to regulatory standards, while providing comprehensive accounting support in daily operations.

Requirements

• Manages expense reporting for KFB and affiliated companies. Monitors and records all expenses, ensuring accuracy and proper coding. 
• Reviews expense submissions for completeness, accuracy and appropriate documentation. 
• Handles accounting payroll tasks including imports, general ledger setup, transfers and invoicing.
• Tracks expense reports and payments from related organizations.
• Reconciles all bank accounts.
• Responsible for tracking online sales activity. 
• Prepare and summarize KFB Legal Foundation financials. 
• Tracks and reports VOTE FBF contributions.
• Assists with financial statements, reports, payroll and schedules for the County Farm Bureau associations within Kansas.
• Prepares and files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. 
• Prepares 1099s for the organization and County Farm Bureau associations within Kansas.
• Assists with the organization’s accounting/bookkeeping responsibilities as needed, including Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Prefers prior accounting experience.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of integrity. 
• Familiarity with Quickbooks Enterprise, PayChex, Accounting CS and Microsoft Office products is a plus.

Authority  

• Responsible for meeting departmental deadlines.
• Must know when to seek additional assistance or advice.

  Relationships

• Communicates with all levels of the organization’s staff, Field Service Managers, KFB members, County Coordinators, County Farm Bureau Leadership, and outside businesses/governmental agencies.
• Participates in activities and committees as requested.
